Happy Earth Day!
We know it’s important to take care of the environment. A direct way we do this is offering a dry cleaning system that is good to the planet.
We offer GreenEarth Cleaning, which is an environmentally-friendly, odor-free way of cleaning your clothes. We have used this cleaning process for nine years.
GreenEarth Cleaning is different because it cleans garments using silicone, rather than petrochemicals. Using silicone to clean clothing is a much more gentle than the traditional dry cleaning process. Additionally, it is non-hazardous and non-toxic.
GreenEarth started cleaning garments with this system in 1998. Today, more than 550 million pounds of clothes have been cleaned in their solvent. Also, it is available at more than 6,000 retailers spanning over 40 countries.
If you would like your clothes cleaned in GreenEarth, just request it when you drop off. There is no extra charge.
We’ve been “going green” way before it was popular. We recycle as much of our trash as possible- paper, cardboard, plastic, metal, you name it! We have recycling bins in each of our 12 stores and our plant. Even our plastic bags that go over your cleaning are 100% recyclable!
We have serviced Northeast Ohio for over 36 years and we want to do our part to protect it.
Fall is the perfect time to get cozy under a blanket with a cup of warm apple cider. These tips will help your care for your blankets, quilts, and other household items all year long.
Think about investing in a duvet cover. They can easily be removed for cleaning and will protect your comforter from spills.
Keep all of the care labels. Care labels help the dry cleaner know how to properly clean your item- this goes for clothing, too.
Be careful when purchasing an item with a glossy finish. Though these finishes look great at the time of purchase, they can wear off during cleaning, causing a dull appearance.
Try to purchase a bedspread that is pre-shrunk. If it is not, it could shrink between 2-3% during cleaning and then be too small for your bed.
Household items should be cleaned at least once per season, or more, depending on use. Blankets, comforters, and quilts absorb “invisible” stains such as body oil and soil from hands, which are difficult to see.
If you purchase a matching bedroom set, all items (including drapes, pillow shams, and dust ruffles) should be cleaned at the same time. This will ensure that any type of color or sheen loss is uniform throughout the entire set.
Oh no! You spilled red wine on your favorite shirt at dinner last night. If you follow these tips, you may be able to increase the odds of that (or any other) stain being removed.
Bring in the garment as soon as possible after it gets stained
Why this is important: The longer a stain has been on a garment means the longer it has set into the fabric. The longer a stain sets, the more difficult it is to remove.
When you drop off the garment, explain the stain as best you can to the dry cleaner
Why this is important: If you can explain what the stain is, how long it has been there, and where it is located on the garment, the dry cleaner will have a better idea of which stain removal tactics to use to try to remove it.
You should be as specific as possible. For example, if it is a coffee stain- is it black coffee? Coffee with cream? Coffee with cream and sugar? We would treat each of those stains differently based on the additions you may have made to your drink.
Do not wipe or pre-treat the stain
Why this is important: Wiping the stain could cause further damage or color loss. If there is extra moisture that you must remove, gently dab it with a clean towel or rag. Pre-treating the stain could also cause these same issues, as well as creating another stain that the dry cleaner may have to remove.
